"All Roads Lead to Rhône" is our journey through Syrah, connecting the Okanagan to the grape's spiritual home in France's Rhône Valley. The name playfully suggests that all paths of Syrah excellence lead back to Rhône, while acknowledging our own unique terroir.
Our label, "Songlines" by Paul Morstad, depicts a cyclist (resembling author Bruce Chatwin) reading while flying alongside kangaroos. This references Chatwin's book "The Songlines," which explores Aboriginal Australian songlines - ancient pathways mapping the land through song and story.
These interconnected themes - roads, songlines, and winemaking traditions - reflect our philosophy at "the hatch." We respect Rhône traditions while forging our own path in the Okanagan. Like Chatwin exploring songlines, we're on a journey of winemaking discovery, connecting cultures, traditions, and innovations.
